MUNICH – BMW unveils the all-new 8 Series Convertible which is planned to enter the US market in March 2019.
BMW again tempts open-topped car lovers, by presenting an 8 Series Convertible. After the success of the 8 Series Coupe, the German manufacturer offers a canvas roof variant that can be opened only takes under 15 seconds. The process of opening the roof itself can be done at a speed of 48 km.
Open-topped cars always give their owners their own sensations. The BMW 8 Series Convertible is claimed to be safe to use, because even if the vehicle is overturned, the security system in the form of two aluminum roll bars opens in seconds.
The BMW 8 Series Convertible is offered in two engine options. The fastest variant uses a V8 which is believed to produce 530 hp and 750 Nm of torque. While acceleration from 0-100 km / h is only 3.9 seconds.
The other engine is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel capable of spraying maximum power of 320 hp and 700 Nm of torque. While to accelerate from 0-100 km / h, this car takes 5.2 seconds.
Both of these machines have pocketed the Euro 6 standard. While the mechanical heart of the vehicle is mated to a six-speed steptronic sport transmission. In addition, this luxury car engine is also equipped with an all-wheel-drive xDrive drive.
The BMW 8 Series Convertible still carries features from the previous coupe version. Both on the exterior to the interior, the two cars look similar. The difference between the two is only on the roof.
Even though it was born as an open-topped car, the BMW 8 Series Convertible features a heating feature on the seat. So that when consumers drive with the roof open, the comfort of the driver and passenger is maintained. But unfortunately the feature above is a special option.
The BMW 8 Series Convertible is marketed at prices starting at Rp 1.8 billion. The price tag is Rp 141 million more expensive than the coupe variant that was first present.
